CEO Blinders

In conversations this past week with executives from three prominent Canadian companies, each independently raised the topic of blinders that their CEOs had.

In one recent instance, the blinder was the CEO allowing a member of the executive to act out in Executive meetings and in dealing with subordinate employees, and not call out the individual for failing to abide by the Company’s stated core values. 

In another instance, the blinder was the CEO failing to reign in one executive team member substantively overstepping their responsibilities, in the eyes of others on the executive team.

In the third instance, the CEO failed to hear the valid points being made by one executive (not in his good books), but when subsequently repeated by another executive, p.....
