Have you recently left your employer? Been downsized? Company has closed; moved; downsized; re-organized; merged; been acquired?
Despite a recent spate of stories in the news about how current trends in employment show individuals staying with one employer for longer and longer periods of time, like so many articles which selectively use data, I guess that this depends on who you’re talking about and to.
If you’re in a particular industry; or in a particular job; or in a particular geography; you may or may not find that tenure is increasing. In fact, in many industries, given shrinking global barriers to entry, the pace of competition and its impact on employers and employees seems to be accelerating once more.
